Empowering SMEs: CrowdIP Event in Spain Facilitates IP Education and Awareness

by EUROCROWD on 13.02.2024

We are thrilled to share the success of our recent CrowdIP event held in Spain, in collaboration with Crowdfunding Bizkaia and the esteemed law firm Patentes Ezcurra. This event marked a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with essential knowledge and resources in the realm of intellectual property (IP).

The primary objective of the session was to provide SMEs and startups in the region with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of IP, ranging from trademarks, patents, copyrights, to trade secrets. Led by the expertise of Maria Antonia Ezcurra, a distinguished IP lawyer, participants gained invaluable insights into the importance of IP in securing competitive advantage, mitigating risks, and attracting investment.

Throughout the session, attendees delved into practicalities associated with registering IP in both Spain and Europe, while also addressing common challenges and mistakes encountered by SMEs in this process. The interactive nature of the event fostered lively discussions, enabling participants to actively engage and learn from one another's experiences.

A highlight of the event was the informal dialogue featuring two SMEs, Compostree and Motmo, who graciously shared their respective journeys and strategies concerning IP registration. Compostree provided valuable insights into their trademark registration journey, offering practical advice for fellow entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, Motmo shed light on leveraging IP rights to monetize products, emphasizing the importance of considering various tools in the process.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Patentes Ezcurra for their invaluable collaboration and expertise, which greatly enriched the content and impact of the event. Likewise, we commend Crowdfunding Bizkaia for their unwavering support as a catalyst for the SME sector, facilitating meaningful initiatives that drive growth and innovation.

In conclusion, the CrowdIP event proved to be a resounding success, leaving attendees equipped with actionable knowledge and inspired by real-world experiences. We remain committed to continuing our efforts in empowering SMEs through education, collaboration, and strategic partnerships. Together, we can pave the way for a thriving ecosystem where innovation flourishes, and businesses thrive.

Stay tuned for future events and initiatives aimed at supporting the growth and success of SMEs in Spain and beyond. Thank you to all who contributed to making this event a memorable and impactful endeavor.
