Brussels, November 6 – Furthering the ongoing cooperation between the two organisations, EUROCROWD is please to announce the participation of Deputy Director Francesca Passeri in the upcoming IP Scan Refresher Training, organised by EUIPO within the framework of the Ideas Powered for Business Network.

Together with experts from EUIPO and WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office), EUROCROWD will take part in the round table "IP & Finance: monetising IP", foreseen to take place on the morning of November 9.

The session will focus on describing the best practices emerged from the use of the IP Scan, an EUIPO tool that supports companies in understanding what type of intangible assets they might protect through different procedures, and how to move their first steps in the world of IP. Following this first overview, the training will look at how the SME and start-up ecosystems have been benefitting from IP.

The session will then dive deeper into the impact of IP on investors and company valuation, with EUROCROWD providing insights on how this topic has been approached in crowdfunding in the past. The expert exchange will focus on the costs and value of IP for companies, and its potential of attracting partnerships and capital from different types of investors, while also highlighting current hindering factors and potential solutions that could strengthen the role of IP in the future.

The session will be organised online and will be targeted to a restricted audience of IP experts.
