The EU-Startups Summit 2025, hosted this year in the historic city of Valletta, Malta, brought together more than 2,400 founders, investors, and innovators from across Europe. The continent’s startup ecosystem meetup was not only a hotspot for fresh ideas and meaningful connections, but also a moment of pride for EUROCROWD as a key sponsor.
As an organisation dedicated to advancing alternative finance in Europe, EUROCROWD’s sponsorship of the summit aligned seamlessly with our mission to support entrepreneurial growth. This year, the summit’s focus on empowering founders and building robust funding ecosystems provided an ideal platform for EUROCROWD to showcase how crowdfunding is shaping the future of startup finance.
Through our presence and sponsorship, we aimed to elevate the dialogue on crowdfunding and alternative finance. This included highlighting the role crowdfunding plays in democratizing access to capital, enabling startups from all corners of Europe to reach new investor audiences and build resilient financial strategies.
The summit featured high-calibre keynote speakers from policy makers, successful entrepreneurs and investors, engaging panel discussions, and a pitch competition that attracted attention from top-tier venture capitalists and angel investors. Within this dynamic setting, EUROCROWD’s role helped amplify the visibility of the crowdfunding sector. By integrating our own conference, CrowdCon, as a formal track within the programme of the Summit and as a separate satellite event, we also ensured discussion and engagement was possible for our members.
Amongst other things, EUROCROWD designed and lead the panel discussion “Equity Crowdfunding: Dos & Don’ts” to add gravitas to our mission. Our contribution underscored the organisation’s continued advocacy for a harmonised regulatory framework and innovation-friendly crowdfunding landscape in the EU. On the second day, our private lunch reception included interventions from crowdfunding platforms, the European Commission and ecosystem builders in close collaboration with our member Tokeportal. The stunning historic location of Fort St. Elmo added yet another focal point for our guests.
We really would like to thank Tokeportal for their support and active role in executing this new format and our member Zaar for their support and local insights. We are sure that all our members were able to take away leads, contacts and inspiration. We are still sorting through the follow up from the event.
Looking ahead, EUROCROWD remains committed to supporting initiatives like the EU-Startups Summit that foster open exchange, cross-sectoral learning, and new opportunities for startups. This sponsorship marks not only a moment of strategic engagement but also a celebration of how far crowdfunding has come in becoming a recognised force in Europe’s innovation economy, with EUROCROWD – and its members – being recognised next to key European stakeholders. We are looking forward to next years edition.
