The Role of Business Angels and Crowdfunding in European Innovation
Online Workshop | 16 June 2025 | 16:00–18:30 CEST
How can European startups attract cross-border funding early in their journey—and how can business angels and crowdfunding platforms collaborate to scale innovation across borders?
This workshop will explore the crucial role of international angel investing. EUROCROWD and its member Invesdor will discuss the growing intersection with regulated crowdfunding under the European Crowdfunding Service Providers Regulation (ECSPR). Our aim is to showcase how angel investors and equity crowdfunding platforms can co-invest, collaborate, and strengthen the innovation ecosystem, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe.
Focusing on digital and deep-tech innovation, clean and resource-efficient technologies, and bio- and med-tech, this session will bring together insights from across Europe to understand:
- How early-stage capital can better reach high-potential ventures.
- What cross-border investment opportunities are emerging under ECSPR.
- How angel networks, platforms, accelerators and VC studios can work together more efficiently.
The event is part of the European ESIL (Early-Stage Investing Launchpad) initiative by bpifrance, Meta Group and Business Angels Europe to promote early-stage financing in underserved regions. EUROCROWD contributes its expertise in regulated crowdfunding to strengthen the integration between business angels and crowdfunding platforms, opening up new investment pathways for innovation stakeholders.
