In 2017, ECN together with Osborne Clarke and the support from academics from the University of Brighton and University of Piraeus have delivered a key study “Market and regulatory obstacles to cross-border development of crowdfunding in the EU” which was published by DG FISMA of the European Commission. The report presents the situation of cross-border European crowdfunding markets and of the regulatory landscape and identifies potential barriers to cross-border transactions across Europe. During the study, the data from across EU Member states were collected. The fact sheets listed below provide an overview of the situation of the crowdfunding industry in various EU countries based on DG FISMA report findings. For a detailed legal analysis of crowdfunding regulation in each EU member state, the USA and other countries, we recommend the study of the ECN Review of Crowdfunding Regulation 2017.
