EUROCROWD to support the uptake of crowdfunding through European Digital Innovation Hubs

by EUROCROWD on 21.04.2023

In its continued efforts to support awareness raising, knowledge transfer and uptake of crowdfunding across Europe, EUROCROWD is pleased to announce the launch of a service provision agreement to the Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH).

The Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) is a pan-European initiative that aims to accelerate digital transformation throughout the European Union and Associated Countries. The EDIH Network is currently comprised of 151 EDIHs that are co-funded by the European Commission´s Digital Europe Programme and 76 EDIHs with Seal of Excellence. Its core mission is to build up the digital capacities of SMEs and public sector organisations throughout the European Union. To accelerate digital transformation, the EDIH Network is focused on building capacity and leveraging cutting-edge technologies in key sectors in every European Union Member State.

Within the wider framework of EDIH’s Digital Transformation Accelerator, EUROCROWD has committed to promote crowdfunding to the benefit of any potentially interest party. The delivery of the first online introductory session has been performed on April 17th, providing participants with an overview of key information on crowdfunding, its characteristics, operating mechanisms and the current and future regulatory framework that will be applicable at EU level. Furthermore, the training focused on highlighting differences between crowdfunding platforms and their business models and operational structures.

Additional sessions are already planned for the period 2023-2025, with a second online training to be delivered on 9 May 2023. Announcements on specific date and timing will be published through the EDIH Academy webpage

The delivery of training sessions to the EDIH Network builds on - and extends - EUROCROWD’s existing commitment to supporting the ecosystem. In this perspective, EUROCROWD is currently engaged in the ADMA Trans4mers EU-funded initiative, one of the biggest European transformation programmes, offering a comprehensive and dynamic approach to digital transformation and helping companies across the continent achieve their full potential through Open Calls for the provision of expertise and services.

EUROCROWD is providing its services directly to the EDIH through its involvement as a network partner with the CROWD in MOTION EDIH, Austria, a consortium of non-profit research and technology organizations, innovation accelerators, digital fabrication labs (Fablabs) and others of the Austrian digital innovation landscape.
