We are glad to announce the upcoming session of our webinar series Mastering ECSP, which will take place 16 February 2022, at 17.00 CET.  In this second webinar, we will take a closer look at applying for the ECSP authorization. Even though ECSP entered into force on 10^th November 2021, around three months ago, we have observed that the implementation of the regulation has not been particularly smooth. Already the first formal contact with the regulation, the application for authorization under ECSPR proved to be a challenge across the board. NCAs in various member states seem to be underprepared for the execution of the regulation, which is reflected also in more difficult communication towards platforms. In the webinar, we will focus on the application process as designed under ECSP and provide some insights into so far limited experience from practice.

Joining us as a speaker is Umberto Piattelli, Partner, Head of Financial Services, Italy in Osborne Clarke.

Mr Piatelli is the Head of the Italian Financial Services team and Head of Osborne Clarke International’s Alternative Finance group. His experience spans extraordinary finance transactions - including M&A, private equity and equity/debt capital market - and financial regulation, in particular as far as regards alternative forms of finance and Fintech.

Since 2014, he has represented Italy in the European Crowdfunding Stakeholders Forum, a group of experts selected by the European Commission to provide legal advice to the Directorate General “Internal Market”. He is a member of the Technical Committee for Credit & Finance of Assolombarda, as Head of the Alternative Finance and Capital Market Union sectors, and a member of the Technical Committee of Associazione dei Prestatori dei Servizi di Pagamento – the Italian Payment service providers association - with the task of following the development of the financial service regulations.

The webinar will be moderated by Ivona Skultetyova, our senior research and project manager and Oliver Gajda, EUROCROWD’s executive director.
