EUROCROWD To Launch Sustainable Finance Working Group

by Joan Segura on 18.10.2021

Bruxelles, 18 October 2021 – In line with the long-standing commitment of EUROCROWD’s members and partners to the promotion of a more sustainability-oriented crowdfunding ecosystem, as well as with the European Commission’s Renewed Sustainable Finance Strategy, EUROCROWD is calling upon all interested organisations to join the activities of its Sustainable Finance Working Group.

EUROCROWD’s Sustainable Finance Working Group aims at collecting and promoting the exchange of best practices in the crowdfunding industry, with the ambition of putting forward coordinated policy proposals in response to some of the shortcomings identified in the most recent Strategy for Financing the Transition to a Sustainable Economy. The document, published in July 2021, recognises the need for a more inclusive sustainable finance framework through the empowerment of retail investors, as well as the need to leverage new opportunities provided by emerging digital technologies.

The purpose of the Scoping Paper “Crowdfunding in the Future of Sustainable Finance” is thus to set the context for the establishment of the Sustainable Finance Working Group, and to encourage all interested stakeholders to join EUROCROWD’s effort in making sustainable finance a widespread concept in practice and ensure that the needs and resources of the alternative finance sector are taken into account in this new phase of the EU sustainable finance strategy.

Interested organisations are invited to contact Francesca Passeri (francesca.passeri@eurocrowd.org) and Andrea Bogi (andrea.bogi@eurocrowd.org).

The deadline to join the Sustainable Finance Working Group is fixed on October 30th, 2021.
