Webinar – Crowdfunding and ESF opportunities: future perspectives for managing authorities, 14.00-16.15, 6 July 2020

Following our work on Crowdfunding for European Structural and Investment Funds exploring the potential of crowdfunding as a blending and match-funding mechanism within the context of the European Cohesion Policy, specifically our Triggering Participation: A Collection of Civic Crowdfunding and Match-funding Experiences in the EU the European Commission – Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL) in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB) are pleased to invite you to the webinar ‘Crowdfunding and ESF opportunities: future perspectives for managing authorities’, taking place on 6 July 2020, from 14:00 until 16:15 CEST.

The webinar builds on the on-going collaboration between the EC – DG EMPL, the EIB and the European Crowdfunding Network under the fi-compass platform, and follows up from the joint presentation held during the last fi-campus conference on December 5, 2019. ECNs Francesca Passeri, Director of Public Affairs, will be presenting insights from our work, while additional practitioners will share examples of projects from around the European Union that have received financial support combining crowdfunding and ESIF financial instruments.

The webinar will elaborate on the possibilities offered by combining crowdfunding and European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF or ESI Funds), with emphasis on the European Social Fund (ESF). The panellists will highlight the potential benefits of enhanced cooperation between managing authorities and the crowdfunding industry, particularly via the adoption of financial instruments.
