ECN supports efforts in raising funds for Notre Dame reconstruction

Brussels – April 17, 2019. Notre-Dame de Paris, the world renowned Cathedral located in Pars, is not only a symbol of Paris, or France. It is a symbol of Europe as well, representing our diverse cultural heritage. And while todays world is moving at a tremendous speed, we are yet defined by our history. For centuries, Notre Dame has inspired ideas and art across Europe – it still does. It is the conflict of conservation and innovation, that is driving our society to evolve.

“We affirm that the world’s magnificence has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed.” once stated the Italian poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in his Futurist Manifest. Speed of thoughts and speed of deeds as drivers for all human actions moved European Fintech operators to join forces and act quickly, as soon as the first images of the burning roof of the Notre Dame cathedral started spreading across the world. In less than 12 hours, the dedicated donation platform www.notredame.help was set up, and major networking efforts have been initiated.

In representing the European crowdfunding industry, ECN proudly endorses the efforts and has joined forces with its members Walliance and October as well as others, including Starteed, Oval, Afone Payment, Credimi, Borsa del Credito, Derev, Epic, Fifty, Fintech District, Italia Fintech, Moneyfarm, Modefinance, Prestiamoci, Stripe, Soisy, Younited Credit, Workinvoice, 200 Crowd.

We encourage our members to amplify the impact of this initiative by amplifying its visibility and resonance, and by adding their names to the already impressive list of promoters.

The collected amount will be entirely donated to the Archdiocese of Paris. Donations can be made by visiting www.notredame.help, and sharing through the #helpNotreDame hashtag on social media.
