Doctor Jean-Pierre Bussalb LL.M. (Sydney) is a senior advisor and head of section at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) in Frankfurt am Main (Germany). From 1998 until 2002 he worked as a research assistant at the Faculty of Law in Jena dealing with Constitutional and Administrative law. From 2002 until 2005 he regulated securities services institutions with regard to MiFID. Furthermore, he supervised financial services institutions being subject to solvency supervision under the Banking Act. Since spring 2005 he has been responsible for the approval of public offerings of prospectuses with regard to securities and non-securities and since 2015 for the German regulation of Crowdfunding and Crowdlending. Since September 2017 he is head of section concerning short-selling, director´s dealings and trading suspensions.
