As 2015 reaches to its end, we would like to take the chance to make a small recap of this exciting year.
2015 has been a positive year for the European Crowdfunding Network: our staff has expanded to include three new team members, we have grown our membership base further and we have organized two large international crowdfunding events and twenty CrowdTuesdays around Europe. On the policy side, we have actively engaged in various discussions, by responding to the European Commission consultations on Capital Markets Union and Prospectus Directive, as well as by working side by side with fellow trade organizations to release three joint statements. We are in an ongoing discourse on relevant aspects to support the sector with several EU institutions, including the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Securities and Markets Authority and the European Investment Bank. We are committed at increasing awareness about crowdfunding all over Europe and we have attended thirty international events as speakers. We have launched a first version of our Code of Conduct and Charter of Crowdfunders’ Rights and with the support of the newly elected Board of Directors, we are working on identifying required transparency and disclosure levels for adequate self-regulation. Last but not least, our engagement in EC projects and tenders continues and we will have a few more next year.
Satisfied with 2015, we are ready for even a more exciting 2016 and we want to thank all our members, partners, readers and followers for supporting us and believing in ECN.
ECN wishes you a merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year!
