“Strength lies in numbers”. This proverb perfectly represents the power of crowdfunding: financing inspiring and innovative projects by pooling the small contributions of individuals. In the field of development aid where traditional funders struggle to find enough resources, would crowdfunding be a good alternative for the funding of new initiatives? However, a great opportunity often comes with risks. Indeed, the current lack of regulation around crowdfunding makes it risky for both the investors and entrepreneurs. But what are those risks? What are the current actions at the European level to encourage crowdfunding? Is Luxembourg a suitable environment for the implementation of a crowdfunding platform?
Chairman of the Europcan Crowdfunding Network, Oliver Gajda, will present about the challenges and opportunities of crowdfunding.
Thursday 27 March 2014, from 12 to 2pm at the Hotel Parc Belle-Vue, 5, avenue Marie Thérèse, Luxembourg.
