Together with Member platforms Goteo and Voor je Buurt, and the Municipality of Barcelona, ECN has been selected as the lead partner and co-organiser of the Workshop “Match-funding with the crowd: blending crowdfunding and ESIF to amplify results”. It’s the first time that crowdfunding and match-funding are included in the programme of the European Week of Cities and Regions through a dedicated session.
The workshop represents the continuation of the activities initiated by the CF4ESIF Working Group, which are also at the core of the third edition of the ECN CrowdCamp. The focus of this initiative, organised within the broader context of the European Week of Cities and Regions, is to highlight how match-funding can design a new model of partnership between crowdfunding platforms, public authorities, the EU, and citizens, especially when public resources from ESI Funds are combined with crowd contributions and channeled towards social and economic development at local and regional level.
Together with ECN, Goteo and Voor je Buurt, representatives from public authorities will present their experiences in the field of match-funding. In the specific case of the Municipality of Barcelona, outcomes and reasons behind the design and implementation of the match-funding call ‘Conjuntament’ will be presented to the audience.
The aim of the workshop is to communicate benefits and good practices on partnerships between public authorities and crowdfunding platforms, and to stimulate the replication of match-funding schemes in other European cities and regions.
The event will take place in Brussels on October 11, from 14.30 to 16.00. Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required and will be open as of July 9.
