The European Crowdfunding Network (ECN) is supporting the FinTech North Showcase 2018, organised by FinTech North and the Department for International Trade (DIT), which will take place via three Conferences in Leeds (26th April), Manchester (22nd May) and Liverpool (12th June).

The FinTech North Showcase is creating business opportunities for UK and international firms to work together. International delegates and Fintech companies have been an important part of the Fintech North agenda since the first event in 2015. In the previous year, the Showcase welcomed delegations from Estonia and the Baltics.  Cross-border collaboration is key to forging partnerships and raising awareness about FinTech innovations as well as for scaling business.

Daniel Rajkumar, cofounder of FinTech North said: “Sharing technology, best-practice and ideas with our friends on the continent is a great way to leverage the investment in innovation, find new opportunities and gain competitive advantage. rebuildingsociety.com are proud to have been members of ECN since 2013.”

While London is touted as ‘the FinTech Capital of the World’ much of the operational work takes place throughout the North of England.  Leeds, for example, has the largest financial sector outside of Canary Wharf and the City and is a good base for companies needing skills in tech, compliance, financial services and digital marketing.  Confirmed delegates in include employees from: Lloyds Banking Group, First Direct, HSBC, Barclays, Aviva, Yorkshire Bank, Leeds Building Society, EY, PWC, Deloitte, Yorkshire Building Society etc, with many delegates being at board or senior decision-making level.

Oliver Gajda, Executive Director of ECN says: “We’re keen to see our members grow and develop through collaboration, to discuss and share experiences in operations and policy developments that help make pan-European business easier. Cross border collaboration has been a key focus in our work and  our members activities.”

ECN is encouraging its members and other interested parties to make use of this opportunity to network with their peers in the North of England. FinTech companies can pitch at any of the events for only £350 which includes a short presentation to an audience of 250-350 delegates, two tickets to the conference and participation in the pre-event meal & networking drinks.
