The SMARTUP project has officially been launched. On February 22nd and 23rd, all the 11 project partners gathered in Milan, where Bicocca University hosted the project’s kick-off meeting.
The overall aim of the Smartup project is to develop smart educational tools – a master programme and a web portal – to support students and startuppers in acquiring an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, and in the acquisition of the practical know how to go from business idea to market. The project aims at achieving such objective through a smart cooperation effort between higher education institutes, companies, the EU Crowdfunding Network and business foundations.
ECN will support the consortium in the coordination of dissemination activities and integration of crowdfunding dimension, provide advice for the set-up of a crowdfunding tool and support for the social media strategy for crowdfunding campaigns. ECN will also provide advice and expertise for training sessions and workshops, and identify early stage investors (crowdfunding platforms managers, business angels and venture capitalists).
Finally, ECN will organise the final conference in Brussels in order to raise awareness about project results to stakeholders at EU level.
ECN will be responsible for the development of a crowdfunding mechanism that will be integrated in the LandSense open platform. Such mechanism will allow citizens and international companies to unlock very high resolution satellite imagery, which in turn will be used to verify changes in specific areas.
The project has received funding from the European Commission under the Erasmus+ — Knowledge Alliances, and it will last until October 2018.
