Leonardo Zannier is Policy Officer in the Energy Policy Coordination Unit of DG Energy, European Commission. He is part of the team in charge of the development of EU energy policy strategies, in particular the 2030 Framework for climate and energy, the Energy Union and the governance of the Energy Union. Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. Zannier worked as deputy head of the Italian branch of the Invest in France Agency and as strategy consultant for the Italian consultancy firm The European House-Ambrosetti. Economist by training, he holds a four-year degree in International economics from Bocconi University and specialized in international politics at Sciences-Po Paris. He also holds a Masters degree in International Affairs from the Italian Institute for International Political Studies – ISPI, and a MSc in European Political Economy from London School of Economics. He is fluent in Italian, French and English and speaks some Spanish and German.
