The Scientific Work Group of the European Crowdfunding Network is issuing a call for academic papers for a peer reviewed edited volume on crowdfunding. You can read the call specifications below or download them as a PDF file here
Deadline for Article Proposals: April 15, 2014
Motivation and objectives:
Current developments and achievements in the practice of crowdfunding show the relevance
of this emergent field in financing all kinds of projects. Simultaneously, the scientific field
elaborating this phenomenon gains ground but still needs further development.
Therefore, the European Crowdfunding Network (ECN) plans to initiate an interdisciplinary
Scientific Work Group on crowdfunding with the support of the Department of Media
and Communication Management at Ilmenau University of Technology.
By setting up this working group we want to contribute to a better comprehension of
crowdfunding, encourage further fundamental research and contribute to a systematization of
this research field. But mostly we want to bring together scientists doing research about
crowdfunding in Europe.
For a start and to identify the European key actors doing research about crowdfunding we
invite researchers to participate in an open edited volume being published by ECN or in
association with an academic or business publisher. Researchers from all kind of academic
institutions and fields are welcome to participate with their scientific work in this publication.
Especially, we want to encourage young scholars and PhD candidates to contribute to the
edited volume with their research findings.
The edited volume will highlight relevant current and future issues in crowdfunding research.
It could be used as guideline and shall advance classification in an emerging research field.
For the first publication of the ECN Work Group this is an open call. All research topics
concerning crowdfunding are welcome. Subject to a successful publication a periodical is
planned as well as further activities like conferences and meetings of the working group.
Therefore, the help from active participants within the research group is needed.
